My Halloween costume for this year. Pretty obvious what it is, but guess anyway.
Oh, turns out Pat is back in Sav for school, and Matt came to visit him this weekend. Last night we went to Huddle House on Whitmarsh, which was a total time slip back to 2004. We gossiped about the people we used to know, and had a jolly time.
Oh yeah, there was a Jurassic Park Party and whatnot.... but I'm sure you guys all saw FB pix and also I gtg so BYEEEE.
In early December, Matty asked me to do a drawing for The Dirty Dirty, his rap group. I did a sketch back then but never got around to finishing it. Well, I finished it today!
Okok so I've been meaning to update about the weekend but things have been quite hectic!!!! (But not nearly as busy as Dustin's weekend!!) Here's the summary:
+++
Thursday:
in the AM: I went to Poetter Hall Gallery & Morris Hall to check out my two pieces being exhibited there. Framed and all. This is the first time I've had my work displayed at SCAD (besides in glass cases from shits from class) so I was pretty happy & excited. See them here and here.
in the PM: Went to Liz's 21st birthday party on the DIAMOND CASINO BOAT. Let me just say that it wasn't like any other birthday parties I've attended. I lost money gambling, but had fun PLUS the night concluded at PANKAKE PALACE so I was happy. Rest of the photos can be viewed here!.
+++
Friday:
In the AM we went to talk to our landlords about some haus shizznits. I'm really glad we have nice, understanding landlords. They have three pugs and they're uber cute. If my allergies magically got cured one day, and I magically became an animal person, I think I want a pug. Then we went to the mall. I got a fairly formal shirt thingy for the job fair that's coming up. When I got home I took a nice long nap, woke up, and made cake with whipped cream & fruits instead of frosting, Japaneez-style. I think it came out good.
At night Jhordan, Kat, Sean & I went to see Reno 911 the Movie. Except it was SOLD OUT. So we watched Bridge to Terabithia instead. I LOVE Josh Hutcherson!!! I've been in love with that boy since Little Manhattan (which is one of the cutest movies EVER). I need to watch Zathura and RV still though. Anyway, the movie was SO not what I thought it was going to be, thanks to all the false advertisements... But it was good! And Josh is hot! So everybody wins. After that we went to Sunset Novelties, the sex store. I wanted to buy some penis shaped mints, but since I promised myself not to waste money on dumb shits, I didn't.
+++
Saturday:
I went to Wizard of Ahhs and got my hair done. It looks like poop now cuz I'm not supposed to wash it for 48 hours and I've slept on it and also it's greasy. Yum yum.
After that I stayed home and catched up on all the homework that I've been neglecting. I finished the drawing part of my storyboards for Back To the Future. Will be posting them up when I'm fully finished.
+++
Sunday (Today):
Helped Jhordan with his photo shoot. He posted one of the pix on Facebook^. I look like an old lady who just shat herself. Awesome. Ran into Forsy at the Bergen studio. Apparently he was there for some leg waxing advertisement shoot. I wish he actually got his legs waxed. That would be fun.
Came home, and ate chili that Sean had made whilst watching Full House.
You scored 58 Idealism, 62 Nonconformity, 29 Nerdiness
Do you ever... get the feeling that you were meant to do something extraordinary?
Congratulations, you're Peter Petrelli! You are a compassionate, idealistic person, which is great. You're searching for your identity and purpose in life, and you have a strong desire to be special, and do something great for the world. You're a bit on the emo side, but you have the best of intentions. Your best quality: Empathy Your worst quality: EMO
@ Juarez last night, for Ian's 21st birthday :) Group photos are the bomb, I need to start taking more of those at parties and gatherings. Kind of reminds me of school trips. Or team pictures, even though I was never in any of them.. for sports teams at least. Anyway, I just like group pix cuz they are yearbook-y. And Yearbook obviously rules my universe.
PS I forget how much ass No Doubt kicks. My favorite band for over 12 years.. the lyrics are imprinted on me like DNA.
PPS I started going through my video files, since I want to make one long footage instead of a bunch of 30 second clips. Well, I have 154 video files since Freshman year. FUCK. DUSTIN EDIT THESE C'MONNN you're good at it.
For my CMPA class we had to pick out a theme at the beginning of the quarter, to base all of our work on. I picked "childhood" cuz I thought that was broad enough to cover my favorite subjects/styles. (stamp example)
We started using After Effects yesterday.... pretty intense, even though we're only working with simple square shapes now. Anyhow, for class tomorrow we had to come up with a quick single-colored logo based on our theme, so I made this:
It was supposed to be about HUGGING but it looks like it's about Motherhood or something.. haha. Logos are HARD, man... especially to keep them simple. I get tempted to fully render them. Here's my sketch for the logo, which I like better than the final. I'm still debating whether I should put facial expressions on them but right now I'm kind of MEH. Computer art is nothing but frustration for me..
ANYWAY
Hope everybody OD-ed on some form of sugar today like me.
I can't wait til it's warm enough to go to the beach. Anyone have any cool Spring Break plans?
Excruciating pain from 8pm last night til 5am.. wasn't able to get a wink of sleep til I vomited twice and felt a wee bit better. The pain was horrible. It felt like some fat guy in combat boots jumping up and down on my internal organs. Or a bodybuilder rolling a rolling pin on my stomach to squish everything. Basically the worst thing you can imagine happening to your stomach for 10 hours. BUHHHH.
Now the super pain is gone but still feeling like shit. Skipped Psych this morning.. and am proably going to skip Storyboarding later today. BALLS.
Never having leftover Clam Chowder AGAIN.
Anyhoo, finally a work somewhat interesting (imo) to show from this quarter...:
Class: Advanced Survey of Computer Arts and Applications Assignment: Design a stamp of your theme (mine is childhood) using Illusrator and Photochop.
Anyhoo... Class Registration is in 12 minutes. Wish me luckkk.
Thursday: Just having a few friends over, playing Kings, getting fucked up and having Jhordan show us ridiculous shit on YouTube LIKE ALWAYS.
Friday: Anniversary dinner at Consentino's. Then over to Jill's for the February Babies Birthday Party. I have NO RECOLLECTION of the latter half of the night, or how I got home. Which means I must have had a fun time. Apparently I kept calling Dustin a piece of shit. Oh, the truth comes out.. More photos of Friday HERE.
Saturday: For our 2 Year Anniversary, Sean got me a room at the Hilton. We somehow ended up on he executive floor (which you can only access when you slide your Card Key in the elevator... EXCEPT the card readers in there are fucked up so we were going up and down on the elevator for about 15 minutes). We got a corner room with an awesome view. Savannah is really pretty from up there.. you'd never realize that the city is actually bum-filled, poop-covered, along with dead animals everywhere. My head is HUGE (Sean has a tiny head, which really helps..) and the camera shadow is on my eye. Great. Oh yeah and we went to the Black Maria Film Festival... and had ice cream at Leopold's with Tin Tin. Room service fun! More pictures from Thurs + Sat up here.
In the past hour or so, I've gotten over 35 comments on my Re: Luke Johnson Phone Experiment video on Youtube. Every 3 minutes my Gmail notifier pops up saying that I got a new comment. I was like WTF? Well turns out the Luke Johnson vid is on the front page of Youtube.. at the very top. And my response video is on the top of "related videos" for that. Wow, Youtube is .... quite... amazing.
I should make a video blog where I slowly start putting my scarf on getting ready to leave... then I can be a true Youtube celeb :D
*EDIT* Now I'm on my 78th comment of the day. Wow. People are amazing.
Thursday - Double date with Jac & Colin. Went to see Night At the Museum (definitely a happy movie), and Sean and I had Hardy's for the first time that night.
Saturday - Went to the mall with Ian and Rach. My first shopping spree in YEARS and it only cost like 40 bucks total. Hooray for sales. At night Sean and I finally watched High School Musical for the first time, and it's our favorite movie now.
Stuff I've been listening to lately: Stefy - "The Orange Album" (♥ ♥) Take That - "Beautiful World" the Click Five - "Greetings From Imrie House" (♥ ♥) Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits McFly - "Motion In The Ocean" Lily Allen - "Alright Still" (♥ ♥) Fall Out Boy - "Infinity On High" Arctic Monkeys - "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" The Sounds - "Dying To Say This To You" V/A - High School Musical Soundtrack
I WANT THE LIL CHRIS ALBUMMMMMM... I guess I'll enjoy this latest single for now:
I TOTALLY had their CD. I have been looking for this video FOREVER and I finally finally finally found it! Holy shit I am the happiest person EVER.
The best part is the fact that I still had the entire rap part memorized from eleven years ago:
"When I fall in love I want the love to be strooong The physical attraction that goes onn and oooonn I wanna hold you close, I wanna feel you near Surround you in the dark, and protect you from the fear I wanna, grow close, together grow old Feel trust, love, and be told Eternity, til death do us apart You blew my mind, now take, my, HEART!"
Sean: "Is this what you use your brain cells on?" HEEELL YES and it's worth every friggin' cell.
Also, Take That's new video is pretty sweet too. And I can't get over how amazing the song is. And also the fact that they made Gary Barlow seem like just a pianist for the majority of the vid, not an actual member of the band.. haha.
Man, parting with old clothes is always so hard. Even if it's something that has been ignored in the closet for the past year or so.
I live with two dudes and they don't understand why I have sentimental attachment towards my old clothes!!!! :'(
But then I know that the moment I get rid of them, I pretty much forget about them and go hunt for new ones. It's like breaking up with boys.
Who wants to go shoppingggggggg!!1
PS I used to not be too fond of Robbie Williams, but I got his Greatest Hits album recently... and realized how amazing these songs from my teenage years actually are. Like Rock DJ. Fuckin' classic. Can I kick it? Yes you can!
You know it was a good night when you don't remember most of it, but remembering a ton of friends showed up (especially the ones you haven't seen in a while), all 116 jello shots and beers are GONE, and there are hilarious pictures to prove it.
At what age do you think it becomes actually creepy and lame to still act/dress like a kid??
I'm 21 going on 22 this year. I still feel and look like half of that, but I'm starting to wonder if there has to be a stopping point sometime... before I become an official paedophile and/or that creepy old lady that still thinks she's young and hip. Because my age to little kids is like whoaa fuckin' ooold.
1) My Elephant In The Room piece got accepted into the Society of Illustrators winter show!!! Hooray! More updates on the show/opening later.
2) Last night we went to Francis's double kegger. It was super packed, and here are pictures stolen from Facebook to prove it: (^and this is just the OUTSIDE.) The packed-ness reminded me a lot of the parties I used to go to Freshman year. Saw a bunch of familiar faces, and also met some cool new people. I had fun overall. Oh yeah, Ian #3 was taking pictures there! I like this one of me and Dustin cuz he looks totally stupid:
3) Went to the SCADDY Awards tonight. Fancy fancy. SEAN WON TWO SILVER AWARDS! CONGRATS to him! Check out his work here. I didn't win shit but I'm still happy that I was even nominated. Also the food they had at the show was delishhh.
4) Take That's reunion album is kick ass.
5) I have to go work on my drawing for storyboarding homework.. The stuff we're doing now is kind of boring (perspective and whatnot) but our next in class assignment is to do an action keyframe with a car in it. I'm going to do an over-the-top epic action movie car explosion business. Except the car that I picked is an old skool VW bug. So yeahhh I'm excited for that!
...the glorious 4-day weekend. Not really, not much happened. I went to Robb's (fake) funeral:
I was feeling mucho better from my sickness, so I played too much recorder and trumpet on Saturday night, resulting in a fever on Sunday (sorry Jhordan). I'm somewhat better now, but am gonna try to keep things chill for a little bit more until I can FULLY recover. Kids, don't get sick. It's no fun.
Soooo this weekend has been a lot of pill-poppin', Full House DVD watching and catching up on the OC. THE END.
